The Vinho Verde region is situated between the Douro and Minho rivers. It is fairly cool and there is quite a lot of rain, which makes it the greenest region of Portugal. The Atlantic Ocean plays a major role in this.

Poor sandy and loamy soils with granite in depth.

The most popular quality grape in the region, Alvarinho (100%). The destemmed grapes are crushed with the juice kept in stainless steel vats at 10°C before starting the fermentation. Cold fermentation at 14-16°C. After 3 months, the wine is filtered and bottled. A small touch of carbon dioxide is deliberately left behind in the bottle.
